Adobe works on the “little” things in their programs. They call them JDI or “Just Do It” features. They are not major program changes but are refinements to the programs that users request which won’t require major overhauls. The changes generally impact existing workflows and I for one am glad they began this initiative with CS5. Next time you think “why can’t I just…” consider sending the suggestion to Adobe Photoshop team at the address below.
In the meantime take a couple minutes to see how you can name your layers faster.
One of the JDI changes in Photoshop CS6 was the ability to rename layers much faster.
