Inspiration evening – Dennis Ramos

When: Thursday May 31 2012. Time: 6:30pm – 9:30pm
Where: Park Station. 5851 Park Boulevard Pinellas Park, FL 33781

Photo composites are extremely popular these days and for very valid reasons, most of which seem to be financial. Acheiving a successful composite however requires patience and planning followed with some digital skills.

Thankyou to everyone who attended the meeting.
You can find a couple of recap videos of Dennis’ techniques in the May section of the Members pages soon.

Some of you who are local may be familiar with Dennis as a regular attendee at Meetup Photoshoots. Others may simply know his work as it dominates the Flickr Stream of the Lightroom Tampa Bay group and recently he was awarded Editors Choice at
Over the last few years I have noticed a big improvement in Dennis' work and his use of Photoshop as a tool to realize his vision so I have invited him to speak to the group about his workflow.

Dennis will talk about his inspiration for his photography and how it has served to develop his own style. Using several of his own images as examples he will define the areas we need to look for as photographers and photoshop artists when creating an image.

Along the way Dennis will give a hands on demonstration of a few tips and tricks he has learned. I believe we can all learn from hearing how others acheive their results and perhaps apply the same methods to our own imagery. I invite you to spend your evening to experience the work of Dennis Ramos through his mind.

About Dennis:

dennis ramos

I live in the outskirts of Tampa in Seffner. In 1991, I started my career as a Registered Nurse in Brooklyn NY where I got my first film SLR. By 1998, I had started another career as a computer programmer where I began experimenting with Paint Shop Pro 5.0. Currently, I work as a Web Applications Developer for the school system in Largo.
I always love taking pictures and about 3 years ago I started to get more passionate and serious with photography and editing. I focus on artistic portraiture using mixed lighting and composites. My artistic style is ever evolving as I challenge myself in every image I make.

Minh, Refreshements are always welcome. Sealed items (i.e. not a bowl “o” noodles) are quite popular.
